Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash by Wishtrend

And just as I was saying I might have been talking too much about Wishtrend. But hey when you like something you gotta let people know about the good stuff.

A few weeks ago I received this quite peculiar Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash and I have been trying it ever since. It is launching today and there are some pretty nice discounts and offers on sets,  for you to check out, at the end of the post.

When I first got this cleanser I was amazed at the idea of a powder wash. How genius is that? Just imagine any person that wants to travel and want to take their cleanser with them (aka me). No more trying to fit it into that liquid's little bag. It needs some getting used to though, as you have to find the best amount to use in order not to waste product but also to get enough foam for your face. To me, that usually is about half a teaspoon.
I also figured out there are some other things to keep in mind when getting the powder to create a foam, it's not hard but you can lose some product if you don't do it like I did. I found that following these steps helped me have zero waste, lots of foam and a generally pleasant cleansing experience:

  • Wet your face and wet your palms.
  • Pour about half a teaspoon of the powder into your wet palm (if you need more you can add some later)
  • Rub your palms together and try to get the powder to stick to your palms
  • Add water gradually to form the most amazing, rich foam.
  • Rub on your wet face gently and with circular motions and rinse with water.
Don't be intimidated by the steps, they become very fast to get used to. And the result is this amazing, rich, bouncy foam, that cleans your skin, but doesn't strip it of its moisture and exfoliates it very very gently.

Also because it's slightly exfoliating it is adviced not to use it with other chemical or physical exfoliators. You can use it every day but if you have sensitive, thin skin you should limit the use to 3-4 times per week.
Something else to keep in mind is that because it's a powder it is better stored out of the bathroom, in a dry place. I keep it in my bedroom.

Its main ingredients are Green Tea Powder and Papain Enzymes. It claims to be exfoliating and polishing and good for all skin types. On the box, it says: This is a cleansing powder formulated with green tea powder, papain enzymes, and baking soda. It maintains proper pH balance of the skin so as to prevent irritation or dryness after cleansing. Green tea powder and baking soda act as an exfoliator, removing all of the skin's impurities.

To be honest I never really expected many things from a cleanser, just because they don't really get to stay on your skin enough to do as much as a moisturizer or serum for example. My main concerns are that it would clean my face and let my skin retain some of its moisture. Also, it's worth mentioning that this is my first cleanser without SLS, because as much as I tried, I could never find one in the greek market that didn't have any.

My results after using this cleanser though were amazing. First of all, the foam is really rich and bouncy and really easy to create, easier than in gel or other cleansers. As soon as I rinsed it off I could see the difference in my skin with slightly smaller pores and a lot of the redness of my face gone. With time it helped my skin more and more and my acne is getting much better even though I'm getting close to "those days", which is probably due to the tea tree powder it has in it. I was also really impressed by the scent. It smells like a matcha latte. And of course, the cleanser never leaves my skin dry. So it's easy to say that I got much more than I expected. The exfoliation is very mild, so perfect for me. I definitely recommend it!

Here are the ingredients of the cleanser and as you can see they are all amazing!
