Pencil makeup

Does anybody else have a love-hate relationship with makeup during summer? It's just so hot and sweat is just everywhere to the point were makeup gets more and more minimal until I just end up using the basics.

One of my main friends in the everlasting battle between the heat and wanting to wear some makeup is pencil makeup products. Here are 4 benefits of using pencil makeup.

  • Much better precision. It is so much easier to apply makeup with precision when you have the color in the form of a pointed pencil. You draw the smaller line and then blur it out.
  • Longlasting. Usually, pencil makeup products are much more longlasting than other products and I find that they usually have a creamy consistency in a way that even if they melt off of your face they could still look rather natural (provided you have a small amount of the product on).
  • Much faster. Mainly because of how precise the products are, it is super fast to get ready using pencil makeup products.

Here are some of the pencil products that I've had and used for quite some time and what I think of them.

The Good

  • Kiko Longlasting Stick 8 hour no transfer eyeshadow in 21 and 35. I believe that I have talked about these eyeshadow sticks way too much on this blog.
  • Golden Rose Matte Lipstick crayon in 13 and 24. Another much loved but maybe a little less talked about pencil makeup product, this lipstick is a very stable and not too drying lipstick that smudges beautiful and can also give full color. The staying power is awesome and the application really easy.
  • Lastly this Kiko Fine Art Eye pencil has a really good staying power and it's really good for the inner part of the lower lashline.

The Bad

  • Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil. I bought this eyeshadow stick because of all of the hype that was around it. But while I love the color I believe the staying power is really really bad. It is super creamy but the fact that it just melts off right away and it's impossible to wear with an eyeliner. Here is some more info on it.

The Mehs

  • Catrice Kohl Kajal pencil eyeliner. One of the products I've tried the least, this pencil eyeliner is just mediocre, nothing too special but really good for the price.
  • Another mediocre product is the essence eyebrow designer eyebrow pencil. I got it because I wanted to try a pencil eyebrow product and it was rather affordable. I like that the packaging comes with a little brush and that it comes in such a light color.
