Face masks: A Collective review

There is something about me and reviews lately. But given the time I have been away from my blog recently and the amount of skincare knowledge I acquired I think it's safe to say I have a lot to say about a lot of products.
This review is about a few masks that I have been trying the past few months and my experience with them. Some are good, some are bad and some holy grails.

The best(s)

It's easy to tell the difference between an amazing face mask one that's just good. The good does what it says on the package, the amazing one makes you look your best on a day with bad skin, lots of stress and 2 hours of sleep. I have a separate review on the "I'm real Avocado Nutrition Sheet Mask" but it's fair to say it is freaking amazing. I tried it on a day when all the above conditions were applicable and it transformed my skin. Easily the best sheet mask I've ever tried. Here my review on it.

Another one that's not depicted but I have to mention because it's just so amazing is the Freshly Juiced Vitamin E face mask by Klairs*. It's a face mask that works overnight and works amazing for acne prone skin. I have a whole review of how it changed my skin here with pictures. But it works amazingly to brighten the skin, help with scars and pimples and hydrate the skin overnight. You can also use it as a face moisturizer by applying a smaller amount on your face.

The good ones

A lot of the face masks that I tried were from Germany since I spend some time there during my Erasmus trip and my mother went there a few months ago and brought me back some of my favorites.

I first tried this Garnier SkinActive Hydra Bomb sheet mask in Germany but it's available in every place that Garnier is sold. Initially, I really like the result of it on my face even though its effect isn't even close in comparison to the tony moly one and the klairs one. However, it gave a lot of moisture to my face and made it plumper. But you can see through the ingredients list why it doesn't perform as great as the other masks above. If you are looking for a sheet mask that is easy to grab however and for a quick fix of moisture that is easy to find almost everywhere pick it up!

Balea moisturizing face mask (Feuchtigkeit Maske) comes in two packages of 8ml each, which is quite normal for face masks to be packaged like that in Germany. Germany has pretty amazing skincare at pretty amazing prices. Not as amazing quality as the Korean products for sure but much better than a lot of other standard brands. You can see that the ingredients are definitely worse than the other two Korean face masks above and therefore it doesn't give the amazing result of the masks above. But it is a really good moisturizing mask if you just want to moisturize your face. So if you come across it in Germany give it a try.

Another Balea Milk and honey mask (Milch und Honig Maske). This one had an amazing scent and gave a very similar effect to the moisturizing mask. It comes in the same package and an extra thing that this one does help a little bit with my fine wrinkles. I think it's actually the best mask of this kind (in a small package) that I tried in Germany, so pick this one if you ever get to Germany.

Moisturizing mask by Schaebens (Feuchtigkeit Maske). I left this one for last because it impressed me the least of them all. It moisturized my face but stayed there and it wasn't even that long-lasting. It's not bad but I much prefer the other two above.

The bad one

The one mask I really didn't like is the Balea Sheet mask with Active Coal (?) (Tuchmaske mit Aktivkohle-Vlies). I take it this mask was supposed to help clean the skin with active coal but for me, it really didn't work well. It actually broke me out and the actual experience of putting it on wasn't pleasant due to the smell. I wouldn't recommend it, it left my skin feeling dirty, not clean and not moisturized. I'd stay away from this.
